KRFO-Area Prep Sports for February 8-9

Owatonna girls basketball lost a make-up game to Winona on Monday 63-51. Blooming Prairie's boys topped Bethlehem Academy 49-45. Tuesday will be busy.

Top-five ranked Winona earned the season sweep over Owatonna in girls basketball 63-51 at the OHS gym Monday. Syd Schultz led the Huskies with 19 points. Carli Langeland scored 11. The Huskies go to Northfield on Tuesday on Kat Kountry 105FM.

Blooming Prairie's boys basketball team edged Faribault Bethlehem Academy on Monday 49-45 in a make-up game. The Awesome Blossoms host Hayfield on Tuesday.

Owatonna boys basketball entertains top-10-ranked Northfield on Tuesday at 7:30PM on KRFO AM 1390. The Huskies won 58-56 at Northfield in the first meeting this season. Owatonna has dropped three of its last four games. The Raiders have won seven of nine.

OHS boys hockey plays Dodge County in Kasson at 7PM Tuesday. Owatonna is 7-2 over their last nine games and will close out the regular season Saturday at 1PM versus Austin at Four Seasons Centre in Owatonna. The Wildcats are 0-4 against Big Nine teams this season.

Owatonna's adapted floor hockey squad hosts Dakota United at 4:30PM at the Owatonna Junior High School gym.

There are a couple of Big Nine Conference showdowns on Tuesday. In girls basketball, Rochester Mayo and John Marshall share the conference lead at 14-2. They play tonight at the Mayo gym at 5:45PM to open a girls-boys double header. JM won the first matchup 47-45. In boys hockey, John Marshall skates at Northfield. The Rockets are 13-0 in league games and beat the Raiders 5-3. Northfield is 16-1 in the conference.
