In their recent email newsletter, the Owatonna School District reports that construction projects that are part of the 2015 referendum and continuing on time and on budget. Most of the work will be complete by the start of the school year in September 2018.

The grassroots Owatonna Forward group listed several education goals last month as destiny-drivers for the community. Superintendent Jeff Elstad said in a recent Owatonna School District newsletter email that the school board, "will begin to discuss how we can, in partnership with our community, achieve these community-based dreams," at the January 8 work session.

Owatonna Superintendent Jeff Elstad, along with school district officials, educators and members of the Owatonna Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed community members to an open house at the remodeled Owatonna Middle School Monday.

Superintendent Jeff Elstad is happy with how the school year has started in Owatonna. In the school district's periodic email newsletter, he says, "It is hard to believe that we are nearly through the first month of school. I want to thank all of you for your patience and support as we are nearing the end of our construction projects."

What's in a name? Effective August 1 in Owatonna, it might mean referring to a different school building.
