STRIVE Wellness Event is August 22 During Steele County Free Fair

The 12th annual STRIVE Wellness run/walk will once again take place during the Steele County Free Fair. The run/walk begins at the Owatonna High School near the Ag Building. Registration starts at 7:30AM with the kids' run at 8:15AM followed by the 4-mile run and 2-mile walk at 9AM. The registration fee is $25 through Aug. 19 and $30 after the 19th. Medals are awarded to the top three finishers in each age category.

The race proceeds benefit the Owatonna Rotary STRIVE program, which stands for Students Taking a Renewed Interest in the Value of Education. In the program, a number of students are each paired with a Rotarian and they meet once a month. The program also includes guest speakers. The goal is to provide that bit of extra support and encouragement that some students need to reach their full potential.
