Jane Nyquist of Steele County Public Health was Todd Hale's guest on Fair Talk this week on AM 1390. She discussed the new smoking policy, which will be in effect at this year's Steele County Free Fair, Aug. 18-23.

Smoking will only be allowed in designated areas starting this year at the fair. The areas are in the parking lots, the fenced-in area of the Beer Garden, an area on Livestock Lane north of the swine show barn, the north side of the 4 Seasons Center, south of the Owatonna Foundation building and the camping area. Gold Star amusements will determine a smoking area within the carnival. This applies not only to cigarettes, but also pipes, cigars and e-cigarettes.
