The Steele County Historical Society honored a number of volunteers at their annual meeting.

Named Education Volunteer of the Year was Brenda Jensen for her hard work in preparing and organizing the  History Detectives and Jr. History Detectives. A free program offered to youth on a monthly basis.

The Volunteer of the Year honorees were Jim Soukup and Joe Falteysek for their work on the world War 1  exhibit.

Paula Howell was honored as Genealogy, Archives and Research Volunteer of the Year.

The Community Partner of the Year was the Wenger Foundation for their support of the World War 1 display at the History Center.

The Steele County Historical Society also elected five board members at the annual meeting. They are:

Stefan Langendam

Jerry Lewison

Jerry Ganfield

Paul Swenson

Diane Wilson

They will serve three-year terms.
