This year's Fourth of July fireworks display at the Steele County Fairgrounds will feature  $15,000 worth of fireworks. According to Rotarian John Havelka, the goal is for a larger and higher-shooting display.

The drive to raise money for next year's display is underway. Shoppers at Fareway Foods in Owatonna can round up their grocery bills, with the difference going to Patriot Skies. You can also mention the fireworks when you dine at Buffalo Wild Wings and then they will donate 10 percent of your bill now through July 4 to Patriot Skies.

Across the street from the fairgrounds, Brick-Meger Funeral Home will be bringing back the Scottie Miller band for entertainment from 7-10PM on the Fourth. Pulled pork sandwiches will be available from 6PM until they're gone for a donation. There will also be free watermelon. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and then stay to watch the fireworks.
