Gopher’s Special Support

Gopher Sport of Owatonna recently presented a BIG check to the Owatonna Area Special Olympics to support their on-going activities.

The Owatonna Area Special Olympics THANKS Gopher Sport for their generous support. The local Special Olympics delegation offers sporting events around the year in bowling, flag football, basketball, swimming, poly hockey (floor hockey), softball and track and field.

The state competition for basketball and swimming is March 28-30 at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul.

Among the other supporters of Owatonna Area Special Olympics is the Owatonna Knights of Columbus Council 945 with their annual breakfast fundraiser and the upcoming Smokin in Steele BBQ cookoff and kick off to summer May 30-31 at the Steele County Fairgrounds.

Wenger Corporation will host the Ride for Hope again July 12 with proceeds benefiting a number of local charities, including Special Olympics. Federated Insurance is another major local contributor.
