The University of Minnesota Extension's annual Crop Production Field Day will be on Tuesday, Sept. 15, on the Keith and Jay Kuiters' Farm on County Highway 45 a quarter mile south of Clarks Grove.

Registration will begin at 9:30AM and the program starts at 10AM with lunch to follow.

Topics vary with each speaker.

UM Extension Nutrient Management Specialist Dan Kaiser will speak about Fertility Considerations for the Current Economic Climate.

UM Extension Soybean Entomologist Bob Koch topic will be Recent Developments with Soybean Aphid.

Three UM Extension educators will be there:

  • Brad Carlson speaks on Buffer Strips, what do we know?
  • The topic for Ryan Miller will be Theories for Variable Rating Nitrogen
  • Lisa Behnken will discuss Strategies for Controlling Resistant Giant Ragweed and Waterhemp
  • And to speak on Economic considerations for 2015/2016, Joel Larson with AgStar Financial Services.
