Blooming Prairie Girls Basketball Has a New Look [Coach Interview]
Blooming Prairie girls basketball has a different look this season with a pair of longtime stars playing college ball and a new head coach.
Former Awesome Blossom Taylor Hagen is now a Panther, playing Division I basketball at the University of Northern Iowa. Hagen holds the BP records for career points and rebounds. Madison Worke plays Division II hoops with Winona State. Blooming Prairie graduated several other players off their 22-4 team from 2014-15. Longtime coach John Worke also stepped down after the season.
Boys coach John Bruns has shifted over to the girls program. He has daughters coming up through the program and saw this opportunity to coach them in the future.
BP returns a pair of All Conference players with senior Kalyn Naatz and junior Kaci Gwilt, who is coming off ACL surgery. Senior Hannah Ahrens was an honorable mention selection last winter.
Blooming Prairie opens its season Tuesday, December 1, at Triton. They play at home Thursday, December 3, against Grand Meadow.
