It's been a busy weekend so far as Blooming Prairie not only celebrates the 4th of July but also their 150th. Sunday there was a good size Kiddie Parade followed by a picnic and group photo. Some estimates say close to 1,000 people showed up for Sunday's events. One person told me she was so impressed by the neatness of the attendees. Plain and simple, they used the garbage cans and left the park in a pretty clean state after the activities.

Monday's events will be capped off with a teen dance at 8:30PM in front of the Showmobile and a Street Dance beginning at 8PM.

Tuesday, July 4, some of the highlights include the Lions Club Breakfast at Prairie Manor from 7:30-11AM. The Tractor Pull starts at 9AM with the Sweet Rides Car Show from 8AM to noon and Antique Tractor Show at the high school from 9AM to 4PM. All these events lead up to the parade starting at 2:30PM and fireworks at dusk at Victory Field.

Happy 4th of July and Happy Birthday, Blooming Prairie.
