As the Sports Director for KRFO, I enjoy the chance to cover sports throughout the year for Owatonna, Blooming Prairie, Medford, NRHEG and Triton. I feature coaches from each school on the Saturday coaches show at 9AM during the school year. During the summer I look forward to the Steele County Fair for the great food and music. I'm on air each afternoon on AM 1390 with a mix of music, news and local information. Come back to the website often for local, regional and national stories of interest. In my spare time I go to high school sporting events, go for a run or watch a movie. My wife Chris and I have two grown children. Cynthia is graduate of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Aaron attends the University of MN.

For Owatonna girls' basketball coach Lindsey Hugstad-Vaa, saying goodbye to the nine seniors on the 2017-18 roster is a difficult thing to do. The group has been there from day one for her. Many of them were members of the junior varsity team that she coached when she first arrived in Owatonna.…
Shoveling and Tapering to Prepare for Cold Goldy’s Run
I have taken a purposeful, but an unusual approach to preparing for Sunday's Goldy's Run at TCF Bank Stadium at the University of Minnesota. I ran part of the 10-mile route on Good Friday and have tapered my training runs since then. I added a couple of cardio workouts with a shovel early …

Not Much Stress Here in Minnesota
The folks at WalletHub ranked Minnesota as the least stressed state in the country. They must not have asked anyone who slid down icy roads this week or Timberwolves' fans who are watching their team hang on by the tips of their fingers to a playoff spot with the season winding down.
