Want Taylor Swift Tour Tickets? You’ll Have to Prove You’re a True Swiftie

Like Eric Church, it would seem Taylor Swift is tired of ticket scalpers. In unleashing her new single “Look What You Made Me Do,” the pop-country superstar also announced plans for a tour — but there’s a catch if you want to get tickets.

A post in the tour dates section of Swift’s website reads:

“Taylor Swift is committed to getting tickets into the hands of fans … NOT scalpers or bots. So she’s collaborating with Ticketmaster #VerifiedFan to create an exclusive program to help you get the best access in North America, in a really fun way.”

Fans are asked to register with their Ticketmaster account (from now through Nov. 28) and participate in activities to ‘boost’ their place in line to gain access to tickets — buying merch, pre-ordering the album and watching the “Look What You Made Me Do” lyric video all boost you, advancing your spot in ‘line.’

From there, you’re prompted to select the city where you’d like to see Swift. There’s also an option to select the number of tickets you want, with a maximum of four allowed, and whether you require handicapped seating. While unconventional, the added hurdles will, in theory, make it harder for ticket scalpers to gain access to tickets while making it easier for Swifties to attend without paying jacked up prices. “Visit your Taylor Swift Tix portal everyday for the newest boosts and activities,” a message on the black and white design layout prompts.

The tour, when announced in full, will support Swift’s forthcoming Reputation album, out Nov. 10.
