The Steele County 4-H program is hosting "Splash into 4-H" at the local swimming pools and beach beginning Wednesday, July 27, at River Springs Water Park in Owatonna.

"Splash into 4-H" is open to all area youth, according to a press release faxed to KRFO radio. Children will learn about the water cycle and how it affects us all. There will be a take-home craft and various experiments as well.

The schedule for the event includes four stops.

  • Wednesday, July 27, at River Springs Water Park of Owatonna from 2-3PM.
  • Friday, July 29, at the Medford pool from 1-2PM.
  • Friday, July 29, at the Blooming Prairie pool from 3-4PM
  • Monday, August 1, at the beach at Lake Kohlmier in Owatonna from 12:30-1:30PM.

4-H students preparing for the Steele County Free Fair can find information on the Steele County page of the University of Minnesota Extension website. The wildlife fun night is coming up August 3. 4-H members will work on the outdoor wildlife project area and explore nature activities. Sign up for the state shoot will also take place.
