Two-time state wrestling champion Peyton Robb made a verbal commitment to Division I South Dakota State University. The junior announced his decision via Twitter.

Robb won the state title at 120 pounds in 2016 as a sophomore after taking the title at 106 pounds during his freshman season. He also qualified for state as an eighth-grader.

Robb is just the third wrestler in Owatonna history to win two titles. Derek Johnson won back-to-back titles in 1999 and 2000. Bob Henry won titles in 1961 and 1962. Robb went 29-3 during the 2015-16 season with 14 pins and a team-leading four tech falls. Robb has a career record of 110-27 with 49 pins. The Guillotine projects Robb to wrestle at 133 or 141 for the Jackrabbits.

OHS senior Brandon Moen, who won the state title at 195 pounds last season, announced his commitment to Division I Eastern Michigan University in September.

Practice begins for Owatonna wrestling Monday, November 21. The season opens December 3 at the Faribault Invitational. The home schedule begins with Albert Lea January 5. Owatonna is ranked fourth in the preseason poll. Robb and Moen are top-ranked. Owatonna's Riley Becker, Tanner Cole, Kade King, Griffin Thorn and Goy Tut are all top 10 in the preseason rankings as well.
