The parents committee of Owatonna Young Life announces that Lindsay Thompson will be the new Area Director, replacing Chuck Jamison, who retired after last school year. Thompson will officially start in the post January 1, 2018.

Thompson is an Owatonna native who participated in Young Life during her junior high and high school days, she was a Young Life volunteer while in college and launched the Real Life program in Owatonna. Thompson also brings experience from Federated Insurance and Wenger. She and her husband Neil have two grade-school children, are youth sports coaches and active members of Trinity Lutheran Church.

The committee reports, through their email newsletter, that the regional office screened and interviewed candidates. "We also want to give a huge thank you to Sara Fortin, who served as intermediary for us during the past six months," stated the committee, adding, "Sara's wisdom, faith and guidance were a huge help to the committee, staff and to Owatonna Young Life as a whole."

Thompson said in her update in the newsletter, "What an amazing semester of Young Life clubs we've had with our high school friends." January 29 is the first official Young Life Club of 2018.
