Habitat for Humanity of Steele-Waseca Area announces their second DIY Youth Event is scheduled for Saturday, April 22. Hours will be 10AM to noon at the Owatonna Area Business development Center on Southwest 24th Avenue, Owatonna, the site of the former Owatanna Business Incubator. Youth are invited to come out a build a Mini Pallet Garden complete with dirt and flowers free of charge. Currently over half the openings have been filled, so interested parties need to call Ellen at (507) 446-0112 to reserve their spot. The first Youth DIY project day had 19 sign up and 14 show up. Youth ages 12 and younger will need an adult to accompany them. In fact, the whole family is welcome to attend as the youngster learns basic carpentry skills.

Habitat is conducting a spare change fundraiser all April long. You're invited to drop off your spare change at their office at 108 W. Vine St., Owatonna, or at the Waseca Chamber Office.

The public is invited to the Habitat for Humanity of Steele-Waseca Area's open house and dedication ceremony on Saturday, April 29. Hours will be 10AM to noon at 603 Glendale St., Owatonna, with the dedication ceremony at 10:30AM. This is the Habitat's 24th home. The next home to be built also will be on Glendale Street, with more details forthcoming.
