Owatonna, Northfield, Mankato West and Winona all won lopsided games Friday night to improve to 3-0. At least one of those teams will lose next week, as the Scarlets go to the Winhawks. The Huskies go to Rochester JM and the Raiders will entertain New Prague.

OHS rolled past Austin 70-36 in a game that featured over 1,000 yards of total offense, two kickoff returns taken to the house and a seven-touchdown day by Owatonna's Jason Williamson.

Northfield won the Cannon Trophy in the resumption of their rivalry with Faribault, the first regular season meeting between the schools since 1967. The Raiders won 24-0, the Falcons' third straight shutout. Quarterback Lars Prestemon scored twice.

Winona blew out New Prague 41-14. The Winhawks scored on all six first half possessions, according to the Winona Daily News. Mankato West clobbered John Marshall 41-0. The Mankato Free Press reports that the Scarlets used a fake punt on their first touchdown drive. Then recovered the kickoff and scored again to grab a 14-0 lead before the Rockets ran a play from scrimmage. The Winhawks-Scarlets showdown will be in Winona Friday September 23.

Mankato East grabbed their first of the season 23-14 over Rochester Mayo, dropping the Spartans to 0-3. The Free Press indicates that Reid Gruenes threw a pair of touchdowns, going 8-for-13 for 162 yards.

Rochester Century scored two fourth quarter touchdowns to beat Red Wing 13-0, as reported by the Red Wing Republican Eagle.
