A winter weather advisory is in effect until 6pm Friday. Snowfall accumulations of 2 to 4 inches expected from south central Minnesota in to western Wisconsin. Lower accumulations expected as you move more to the north.

A powerful winter storm will track into Minnesota by Christmas night. Patchy freezing drizzle Saturday night will become steadier freezing rain by Sunday morning, with ice accumulations of 1/4 inch possible. The precipitation should become all rain by Sunday afternoon.
