Owatonna High School girls tennis and volleyball victories ended with players and coaches taking the "Ice Bucket Challenge" at the high school on Thursday.

OHS girls tennis earned two more wins, beating Mankato West 6-1 and Winona 5-2. The Huskies have won five straight and are 4-0 in the Big Nine Conference. They play at Chanhassen on Friday. After their Thursday wins several players took the "Ice Bucket Challenge." Assistant Coach Chuck Jamison has also been doused this season.

OHS volleyball opened its season Thursday with a 3-2 victory over Prior Lake. The Huskies jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but the Lakers rallied back to tie and force the fifth set. Owatonna never trailed in the final set. Allison Falken, Lexi Langeland and Carli Langeland each had about ten kills. Final score: 25-23, 26-24, 13-25, 19-25, 15-11. The night ended with the coaching staff taking the "Ice Bucket Challenge," which might have felt good after the sweltering night inside the OHS gym.

Owatonna girls soccer rallied for a 2-2 tie with Apple Valley. Sydney Kasper scored both goals, including the evening tally with 3:41 remaining in the second half.

Huskies boys soccer beat the Eagles as well.
