Owatonna's Willow Creek Intermediate School hosted its annual Veterans Day program, with students and members of the public in attendance.

After a welcome by staff and student council representatives, the American Legion Post 77 Color Guard entered the gym and presented the flags. The assembly then recited the Pledge of Allegiance and listened to the Willow Creek choir perform.

After an exit procession by the Color Guard, members of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary gave a presentation titled "I am the Flag of the United States of America" before keynote speakers Col. Troy Soukop and Col. Pete Draheim spoke. Both are Owatonna natives and have served in Iraq.

During the flag folding ceremony, those in attendance learned the meaning behind each fold of the flag.

The program ended with a photo tribute to veterans, and the return of the Color Guard for "Taps" before the colors were retired and the assembly dismissed.
