Owatonna High School football coach Jeff Williams was named the MN Football Coaches Association Coach of the Year at their banquet on Saturday.

Williams coached the Huskies to the 2013 Class 5A state title, in the final football game to ever be played at the Metrodome. The win complete an unbeaten 13-0 season for Owatonna.

• Head Coach at Owatonna for 18 seasons (1996 to present)
• Career record is 126-61
• His Owatonna teams have:

  • Won five Big 9 Conference championships (1999, 2007, 2008, 2012, 2013)
  • Won four Section championships (1998, 1999, 2012, 2013
  • Made three Prep Bowl appearances (1998, 2012, 2013)
  •      Two second place finishes
  •      One state championship (2013 Class 5A)

• He was the Outstate Head Coach in the 2000 All-Star Football Game
