What Do 7 Touchdowns Sound Like? Highlights from Owatonna’s Playoff Game

If you need to find the end zone on a football field, you can really on Owatonna junior running back Jason Williamson more than your GPS. He scored seven touchdowns in Saturday's 59-34 state tournament quarterfinal victory over Mahtomedi. That tied a school record set by Sam Hylle in 2015 and already matched once this season by Williamson.

KRFO's Roy Koenig and Brad Fischer have had the pleasure of watching each ankle-breaking cut that Williamson has executed while carving his way through each defense, which knows exactly what's coming, but doesn't have the capability to stop.

Williamson's seven touchdowns Saturday gives him 37 TDs this season, counting four receiving scores and one kickoff return, giving him the school record. He also holds the career record for touchdowns at least 54 and is number one on the career rushing list at OHS with 3,650. Remember, Williamson is a junior. He set the single-game record of 343 yards on a sloppy field in a win over Rochester Century and is closing in on the single-season record held by Aaron Peterson.

He has spent several Saturdays this fall visiting Division I football programs, including Minnesota, Iowa and North Dakota State. Williamson and his teammates hope to play two more prep Saturdays this fall. The state semifinal match-up with Brainerd is Saturday, November 18 at 7PM at U.S. Bank Stadium. The winner advances to the Prep Bowl final on Saturday, November 25 at 4PM. Owatonna lost in the semifinals to Elk River one year ago. The Huskies beat Brainerd in the 2013 Prep Bowl championship game.
