A weak tornado touched the ground and damaged a shed near Greenleafton in Fillmore County Wednesday evening that tore the roof off of a shed.

Fillmore County Sheriff Tom Kaase said a Fillmore County Deputy responded to a call and found that a 75 x 25 foot shed had its roof ripped off by the tornado. Roof tin was found in a treetop and shed poles had been pulled from out of the ground. The sheep and cattle on site were not injured. Debris from the event was found 1/2 mile from the scene.

The site where the tornado touched down was an abandoned residence, and the National Weather Service indicated there was no tornado activity in the area. After the deputy saw the damage, the National Weather Service was contacted again.

After viewing photos and video from the scene that was taken by a neighbor, the tornado was given a EF0 rating, classifying it as a "weak" tornado, with wind speeds hitting 60-85 mph.

No other trees, crops or farm sites in the area sustained any damage.
