Taste of Country's newest RISERS cover video has been released. This one finds Jacob Davis trying his hand at Tim McGraw‘s “Where the Green Grass Grows.”

“Where the Green Grass Grows” was a hit for McGraw in 1998; it comes off of his album Everywhere. Davis' acoustic cover does the song justice, infusing plenty of energy and Louisiana-bred passion. For close to three minutes, Davis and a couple of backup players groove underneath a set of string-up lights; his smile makes it clear that he is enjoying every moment.

Taste of Country's RISERS program highlights the hottest up-and-comers in country music, including Davis. The artist released his debut single, “What I Wanna Be,” in March; he is currently busy working on a his his debut on Black River Entertainment, the label with which he signed in 2016. A Shreveport, La., native, Davis earned a degree in environmental science, with a focus on geology, from Louisiana State University, and went to work for an oil company before making the move to Nashville to focus on his music career.

“What I Wanna Be” is available for download on iTunes.
