Warmer Weather Greets High School Softball and Track and Field Athletes

High school springs sports practice began Monday for fast-pitch softball and track and field. Athletes could be outside to enjoy the warmer weather, but it might be a while until fields are ready.

Opening dates for the local teams for softball and track and field are listed below.

Owatonna:

• track and field Tuesday, March 31 at Gustavus Adolphus in St. Peter
• softball Tuesday, April 7 at Rochester Century

Blooming Prairie:

• track and field Saturday, March 21 at St. Olaf in Northfield
• softball Thursday, April 2 hosting Bethlehem Academy

NRHEG:

• track and field hosts an invitational Tuesday, March 31
• softball Monday, April 6 at Bethlehem Academy

Medford

• track and field Tuesday, March 31 at NRHEG
• softball Thursday, April 2 at Maple River

Triton:

• track and field Saturday, March 21 at St. Mary
• softball Monday, March 30 at home versus Kasson-Mantorville
