Applications are being accepted to fill a vacancy on the Board of Regents for the University of Minnesota. Applicants must reside in Minnesota's First Congressional district. Candidates will be interviewed and screened by the Joint Legislative Committee which is chaired by Senator Michelle Fischbach and Representative Bud Nornes. They will recommend one nominee to the Joint Convention of the Legislature. The Joint Convention will then elect the new Regent.

The Board of Regents is the governing body of the University of Minnesota system and its campuses in Crookston, Duluth, Morris, Rochester and the Twin Cities. Regents are unpaid volunteers. This particular opening would be for the remaining three years of a current 6 year term that expires in 2021.
