The Vietnam Memorial Traveling Wall will be on display Labor Day weekend at the Rice County Fairgrounds in Faribault.

The display will arrive at the Steele County Fairgrounds in Owatonna on Wednesday, August 31, at 1PM and will then be staged for transport to Faribault. It's scheduled to leave the fairgrounds at 3PM. It will be escorted by the Steele County Sheriff's Department along with the Owatonna Police Department, Fire Department and EMS to the Steele County line. The route will travel north on Cedar, Oak and Hoffman Drive and then take a right and head north on Highway 45 through Medford and on to the Rice County Fairgrounds. Rice County officials will join the route in place of Steele County officials at the county line.

The public is welcome to join the processional as well.

The display wall is a scale display of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, D.C. There are 10 Steele County names on the wall. The exhibit will open at the Rice County Fairgrounds at 1PM on September 1. The grand opening will take that evening at 6:30PM and close Monday, September 5, at 1PM.
