United Way of Steele County is very close to achieving its 2014 LIVE United campaign goal of $665,000. The campaign remains open through Thursday, Jan. 15.

To give a donation or make a pledge, stop by the United Way office or drop it in the mail: 110 North Cedar Ave., Owatonna, MN  55060.

"This community is amazingly generous. Every donation is important to the work we do and support. It is through community collaboration and fund raising that programs such as the food shelf, Transitional Housing, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Crisis Resource Center, Children's Remedial Fund and Free Clinic of Steele County, among others, are supported."

-Kim Schaufenbuel, Executive Director, United Way

United Way funds 26 local programs that strengthen families, assist community members to meet their basic needs, increase access to health care and affordable prescription medications, provide seniors and disabled people with support to live independent lives, and provides children and youth with tools they need to succeed.

The mission of the United Way is to change by mobilizing and optimizing the caring power of our community. For more information, go to www.unitedwaysteelecounty.org.
