Faribault had a chance to tie Mankato East on the final play and Century could have stunned John Marshall on its final snap Friday night. Each came up short.

Faribault nearly completed their comeback from a 13-0 deficit but got sacked on their final play at Mankato East to lose 20-12. The Falcons had more than double the yardage and a big time-of-possession advantage over the Cougars. Faribault had a pair of drives late in the game come up short.

Rochester Century fumbled on a goal line play to end their upset effort against John Marshall. The Rockets won 13-6 after trailing 6-0 at the half.

Owatonna's defense dominated in their 21-3 victory at Northfield on Friday night.

Mankato West crushed Austin 58-15. The Packers got a couple of early interceptions and tied the game at 7-7. West scored the next 51 points to improve to 4-0 going into this week's clash with unbeaten Rochester Mayo.

Mayo scored a 41-27 victory over New Prague behind Ray Motley's big game. The Post Bulletin indicates he rushed 21 times for 162 yards and four touchdowns. New Prague rallied from a 21-0 hole to tie the game early in the third quarter.

Winona stayed unbeaten with a 38-0 win over Red Wing. Don Jonsgaard rushed for three touchdowns, according to the Winona Daily News.
