Owatonna tennis player Briana Hartmann earned her 3rd straight state tournament trip Tuesday. The boys soccer team finished as section runner-up. Cross country & volleyball too.

Owatonna High School senior Briana Hartmann qualified for the state tennis tournament for the third straight year by beating Rochester JM & Mayo players by identical 6-3, 6-0 scores.

The Huskies boys soccer team lost to Rochester JM 2-0 in the Section 1AA final. Owatonna was the two-time defending champ. The Rockets scored about ten minutes into the second half & added the insurance goal with 12 minutes remaining. In between those two goals the Huskies had a couple of their best chances. OHS got the ball behind the JM goal keeper at the 20 minute mark, but a teammate bailed him out. Then with 17 minutes left there was a flurry in front of the JM goal, but OHS couldn't get the ball past traffic. In the first half, Owatonna junior Ricardo Mercado hit the far post with a shot. The match was scoreless at halftime. The Huskies end their season at 12-3-3. Owatonna had ten seniors on the team.

In Big Nine Cross Country at the Brooktree Golf Course, Rochester Century won the boys title with Owatonna 6th. For the girls Austin took home the championship. OHS finished 10th.

In volleyball, Owatonna swept Austin 3-0 (25-5, 25-15, 25-11).....Blooming Prairie won three straight over Randolph.....Kenyon Wanimingo upset #1AA Stewartville 3-2 to tie for the HVL Championship along with Kasson Mantorville who beat Pine Island Tuesday.
