For the first time, Triton boys golf will play at state as a team. The AA tournament is June 9-10 in Jordan and coach Don Henderson feels confident about their chances.

This season marked the first time the Cobras advanced out of the subsection. Junior Jaden Thiemann won the section title. Senior Zach Otto had the lowest score of the second round. The other team members are senior Preston Pflaum, juniors Ethan Otterbein and Max Henderson, and eighth-grader Austin Gillund. Thiemann placed fourth at last year's tournament, one stroke out of a tie for first place. Otto tied for seventh in 2014.

The Cobras set the school record for team (297) and individual scoring (Thiemann's 67) this spring.

Two of last year's three individual champions are back. The Blake School of Minneapolis is the highest returning team qualifier. The Bears placed third last season and return three golfers from that team. Mankato East, which finished fourth last season, is the only other returning team.

The AA tournament is at Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan. The boys tee off at 7:30AM on Tuesday, June 9. It is a two-round tournament.

Blooming Prairie's Taylor Christianson qualified for the Class A tournament at Pebble Creek in Becker. Owatonna's Peter Jones and Maddie Peglow will play at Bunker Hills in Coon Rapids in the AAA tournament. Each is also scheduled for June 9-10.
