Tim McGraw Connects Soul2Soul With Teacher Battling Cancer [Watch]

Tim McGraw gave a teacher battling with cancer a night she will never forget at a recent concert in Milwaukee.

Alison Bryant, a teacher at Parkside School in Peru, Ill., is currently undergoing treatment for cancer and attended a Soul2Soul tour date with several friends. During the show, while singing “Live Like You Were Dying,” McGraw reached for her hand. The moment, captured on video by another fan, had Bryant in tears.

Bryant, a huge Faith Hill fan, tells the News Tribune that McGraw approached her and grabbed her hand while singing the hit song about making the most of the time you have left in life. “It was very compassionate,” she says. “I was starstruck at first, but the compassion from him and Faith Hill, and the people around me will always be with me. It will be in my heart.”

The teacher wore a headscarf to the concert, and that’s likely why the superstar singled her out, realizing her struggle. Even before McGraw sang to her, Bryant knew she was going to cry.

“I looked at my sisters and said, ‘I need tissues,’ because it was emotional,” she recalls. “Both he and Faith had come over before. Faith had blown a kiss at me, and I blew a kiss back.”

McGraw and Hill are no strangers to making special moments with their fans in concert. At a Soul2Soul Tour stop just days before, on June 17, Hill helped an expectant couple learn the sex of their baby, reading a note they passed to her from the crowd. “Wait, do you want to announce it or do you want me to be the first to know?” Hill asked, overjoyed when the fans said they wanted her to reveal the special news. The “This Kiss” singer says it was one of the best moments of her career.
