Three Owatonna High School Athletes Sign Letters Of Intent Wednesday
National Signing Day including a Division I and a pair of Division II signees at Owatonna High School on Wednesday.
A crowd of supporters attended a signing ceremony at the Owatonna High School commons on Wednesday, as three Huskies signed Letters of Intent to compete in college athletics.
Kaylea Ahrens signed with Augustana in Sioux Falls, S.D., to play volleyball for the Vikings. Ahrens was a libero for the Huskies and says she probably will start as a defensive specialist for the Vikings. She plans to major in law or law enforcement.
Peter Jones signed with the University of Minnesota to play golf. Jones finished in the top 10 at state last summer, after taking runner-up honors as a sophomore. He is also the defending champ of the Owatonna City Open. He will major in architecture.
Zae Lefaive signed with Northern University in Aberdeen, S.D., where he will join the track and field team as a jumper for the Wolf-Pack. Lafaive competed at the high school state meet last June in the high jump. He is undecided about a major.
