Laura Ressler and Gregg Draegger from the Owatonna Foundation were in the KRFO AM studio for Talk of the Town to talk about Owatonna Foundation Week, October 5-11.

The Owatonna Foundation was established in 1957. It has financially supported many local projects, including Homestead Hospice House, Hospitality House, Owatonna Public Library and Steele County History Center.

The Owatonna Foundation Legacy Luncheon will be on Thursday, October 8. Jim Martineau, founder of Viracon Inc., will be the keynote speaker with the topic "Community Activism - More Leaders For Tomorrow." Those that have donated at the "Living Legacy" level will be recognized. The Foundation will present the Wenger Family with the "Spirit of the Community" Award.

Thursday evening at 6:30, Cash Wise Liquor and Holiday Inn are co-sponsoring a Wine and Beer Tasting Fundraiser featuring Minnesota breweries, wine and food. It will be at Holiday Inn and Suites. Tickets may be purchased at the Foundation's office, Cash Wise Liquor, Kottke's or eventbrite.com for $20. The proceeds will help support grant and scholarship programs through the Foundation.

The Foundation will be at the football game Friday to cheer on the Huskies to a win over Rochester Century. T-shirts will be given away at halftime.

To close the week on Saturday, enjoy coffee and cookies between 8AM and noon at the Owatonna Foundation Office, 108 W Park Square, across from Central Park.
