With all of the turmoil in North Minneapolis yet and the issues surrounding that police department, and with the news of a Plymouth officer accidentally getting hit by a car while on duty yesterday, it's nice to hear a good police story.

Last week, a Lakeville Police officer responded to a call of a resident who had fallen inside her garage. That officer was Sgt. Jay Castonguay. According to the Fox9 news story, the resident's husband has medical issues and was unable to offer any help.

She told Castonguay that she frequently has trouble with the stairs. He took it upon himself to do something about it.

He went back on his days off and built a ramp so that the couple would no longer have to worry about those stairs being an issue. In this dayand age when people usually have many other things to do on their time off from their regular work, this officer gave that time up to help someone else.
