Grab your bicycle, a helmet and a partner to participate in the Amazing CultuRace during Saturday's multi-cultural outdoor festival. The 19th annual CulturFest is a day-long event September 23 at Wilson Elementary School at 325 Meadow Lane in Owatonna. The activities begin with a parade at 10:30AM starting from the Northwood Theater. Opening ceremonies begin at 10:45AM at the school.

The bicycle race will pit two-person teams riding along a predetermined route with seven stops along the way where the teams will tackle culture-related challenges. Prize money will be awarded to the favorite charities of the top teams.

In a news release, CulturFest chairperson Sue Schroeder says, "We are extremely thankful to have Judy Pleml and her State Farm Insurance Agency on board to help underwrite this race, without her support this race wouldn't be possible."

The challenges combine mental and physical tasks and require teamwork. Each biker must be at least 12 years old, and at least one must be 18 years old or older. Top teams earn medals.
