The weather was cooler as the weekend approached, but the enthusiasm was still going strong at the Steele County Free Fair.

In the annual battle of brown vs. blue in the seed spitting contest on Thursday, a new weekly record was set, but it was shattered during Friday's contest by a wrestling coach.

Rides and vendors were a little slow to get started Friday morning after Thursday night's deluge, but by noon, the midway was filling up and the rides were going strong.

The displays in the 4-H Exhibit Building continue to draw visitors. If you haven't gone through yet, check out that work, especially some of the carpentry and woodworking projects. There are some talented kids in Steele County 4-H.

And be sure to check out our other fair coverage and stay tuned to KRFO AM 1390 and Kat Kountry 105 for fair updates throughout the weekend.
