There's still time to sign up to take a short dip in Lake Kohlmier in Owatonna Saturday January 30 to raise money for Minnesota Special Olympics.

Event day registration is available at Lake Kohlmier beginning at 11AM if you haven't had the chance to pre-register at plungemn.org. Bring your pledges with you, along with a towel and some courage. Plunging begins at 1PM. Creatvie costumes are encouraged.

Each participant is asked to raise at least $75. In 2015 nearly 200 brave souls jumped into Lake Kohlmier, raising over $36,000 for Special Olympics Minnesota. Some were jumping for the very first time, while many had done it before and were back for another quick, chilly swim.

Plungers and spectators are encouraged to use the parking lot at Federated Insurance. Shuttle service will be provided on a continuous basis from 11AM through the end of the plunge.

In 2016 twenty plunges will take place across the state to raise money to benefit more than 8,100 Special Olympics athletes. The plunges are organized by Minnesota law enforcement as part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run.

KRFO / Kat Kountry 105 radio are happy to help sponsor and promote this event. The city of Owatonna and Parks and Recreation Department are also local sponsors.
