Heavy rains and strong winds struck a good chunk of the listening area late Tuesday afternoon.

The National Weather Service reports three tornadoes touched down in south-central Minnesota. A twister was reported about 6 miles northeast of Waterville. A wind gust of 51 mph was reported about 6 miles northeast of Ellendale. In Blue Earth County, a tree toppled onto a house. Trees and branches were also knocked down in Watonwan County. No major damage was reported from the three tornadoes.

Some of the rainfall totals include north Mankato with 5.75 inches. Lake Crystal had reports of 6.5 inches of rain.

Some farm fields were reported flooded in Blue Earth and Le Seuer counties. Several roads were closed for a time as well due to high water. Some streets in Waterville were closed for a while due to branches down.
