Owatonna High School has an experienced coaching staff leading their football team into the state semifinals Saturday night at U.S. Bank Stadium. But their years of working together pales in comparison to the group that will line up across from them for the second time in five years.

Brainerd boasts the state's all-time leader in career coaching victories with Ron Stolski and a staff whose years of experience add up to 320 years, according to a story in the Star Tribune. Stolski has 380 wins in his 56th year of coaching, more than the last 40 with the Warriors. His teams have appeared at state ten times. They made the Prep Bowl final once, losing 24-0 to Owatonna 2013 at the Metrodome.

The Huskies are coached by Jeff Williams. In his 22nd season, Williams has seen 158 victories and six state tournament trips. The Indians went to state in 1982 under coach Jerry Peterson.

Stolski says Brainerd is fairly young and they made some personnel changes after a couple of early season losses. He likes his team's strength of schedule but acknowledges that the Warriors are the underdog against the high-scoring Huskies. He still enjoys working with the players and teaching the life lessons that come from football.

The Warriors rely on a steady rushing attack that produced a state-tournament record 55 carries from their workhorse running back, Charlie Geraets. OHS also got a stellar performance from their feature back, Jason Williamson, who rumbled for seven touchdowns in their quarterfinal victory.
