Mantorville, MN (KROC AM News) - A Stewartville man was sentenced to prison Wednesday for selling drugs to a man who later died from an overdose.

Authorities say 19-year-old Donte Wilkins sold some heroin and fentanyl to Tyler Gray the same day he died at his rural Dodge Center home last December. The criminal complaint against Wilkins indicated he began selling the narcotics to Gray in June last year.

He had been facing a murder charge but it was dismissed as part of a plea agreement. He recently pled to a 2rd degree manslaughter charge.

Wilkins was sentenced to 57 months. Restitution in the case has not been decided yet.

Wilkins is also awaiting trial in Olmsted County Court on charges stemming from a violent home invasion in Rochester earlier this year. He is one of three teenagers charged with barging into an apartment near RCTC and fighting with the occupants. His trial is set for Nov 27.
