The Steele County Relay for Life begins Friday night July 17 at 6 at the Steele County Fairgrounds. The evening will start with comments from the Honorary Chairs, Joel Pleml and Michelle Miller. This will be followed by a survivor's lap and then a caregivers lap. Entertainment includes Stix of Fury. At 9:30pm there will be the Luminary Ceremony. There will also be a silent auction.

New this year is the Daiken and Dash race starting at 8am Saturday just north of the ball diamonds. You may register Friday night at the Relay or Saturday morning starting at 7. Proceeds will benefit the Steele County Relay for Life.

Co Chair Joel Born reports significant progress in the fight against cancer including encouraging results in the use of Immune Therapy. 72% of the money raised goes directly to cancer research at the Mayo. The remainder is used for things such as riders for cancer victims, wigs and a toll free support line.
