A number of Steele County communities are getting set for the annual National Night Out, which will be Tuesday, August 1. Activities begin at 5:30PM in Blooming Prairie's Central Park. There will be a bounce house and kids games. A child ID table will be set up and there will be a laser demo at 7PM. A movie will be shown at dusk. Members of the police force will be on hand to meet residents.

Ellendale will conduct their National Night Out from 5:30-7PM in Central Park. There will be free root beer floats. Hot dogs and chips will be available for a donation to the Lions Club. Representatives from the Steele County Sheriffs Office, Ellendale Fire and EMT members along with city council and city staff will be on hand as well.

Steele County Sheriff department members along with the Owatonna Police will be a part of Owatonna's Night to Unite on August 1. Plan your party and then register it at the Owatonna Police Department website.

Some of the objectives of the night's activities are to heighten crime and drug prevention and generate support for and participation in local anti-crime programs.
