The deadline for nominating a Steele County building or property for their 2017 Preservation award is Saturday, April 1. Each year two Steele County buildings or properties are recognized for their outstanding preservation and or restoration efforts.
A nominated property or building should accurately reflect the architecture of the time it was built and be as close in its original detail as possible. You may nominate a home, business, farmstead or rural property.

Nominations need to be turned into the Steele County Historical Society office by April 1. In your nomination, include a letter explaining why it is your choice and include a photograph and background information. Also include a contact number. A selection committee will visit the nominated property.

The awards will be announced in May during National Preservation Month.
