Steele County Historical Society Presentation

Susan Garwood, executive director of the Rice County Historical Society, will be making a presentation at the Steele County History Center on Jan. 29 at 1 p.m. She'll be discussing how to Navigate the Dalby Database.

This database was started in the 1980s by John and Jan Dalby of Fairbault. The Dalbys helped the Rice County Historical Society by entering information into the Rice County cemetery database. They then continued to add indexes to cemeteries from around Minnesota along with city directories, select birth and death records and more. The online database now has more than 2.5 million records in it. The Dalbys will be present at this event as well. Admission to this lecture will be free, but donations will be accepted.
