The annual meeting of the Steele County Agricultural Society was held on Thursday, November 5. Attendance in 2014 was 2nd best all-time. Several records were set.

Jim Gleason, fair secretary/manager reported that the official Steele County Free Fair attendance was 339,671 people, which was the second highest ever. Beer sales totaled 56,269 twelve ounce cups. Mega Ride ticket sales totaled 4952. The number of commercial exhibits also set an all-time record. Concession rental was over $300,000 representing about 525 stands and booths at the fair. There were 311 booths in the Four Seasons Centre. Vendors came from 23 states.

Glen Meger ofOwatonnawas elected to the board of directors. Incumbent candidates re-elected include Tim Arlt, Mark Ditlevson, Rick Ellingson, Brent Svenby, and Ron VanNurden.

At the fair board meeting following all officers were re-elected including Dan Deml, President, Bruce Busho, Vice President, Tim Arlt, Treasurer and Jim Gleason, Secretary/Manager.

Dates for the 2015 fair are August 18-23 with the theme, “Food, Fun and Screams in 2015”.
