The fun begins Tuesday at the Steele County Fairgrounds. There will be two Hall of Fame inductions Tuesday afternoon. The Equine Hall of Fame takes place at 12:30PM in the Show Arena with the Sheriff's Posse this year's honorees. At 2PM in the Show Arena, Mark Ihlenfeld will be inducted into the Livestock Hall of Fame. The Livestock Service Award, which is new, will be awarded at that time as well. It will go to former Steele County resident Ron Eustice. This award goes to someone in the livestock industry who gained their leadership skills through youth work in Steele County.

The Elmer Reseland stage will be dedicated at 6PM on Tuesday. The stage is just east of the 4-H building.

A few other notes in regards to the fair include the free shuttle bus sponsored by the Owatonna Bus Co. They will provide shuttle service from Central Park in downtown Owatonna and the Industrial Park on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 11AM to 1PM.

Parents with young children are encouraged to stop by the Sheriff's Shack in the Muckle Building to pick up free I.D. name tags. Also, children's fingerprints for the free I.D. kits will be taken at the sheriff's office each day of the fair. Sheriff Thiele asks parents to take a photo of their child the day that they attend the fair. If you take it the day they attend it will show the type and color of clothing the child is wearing.
