The Steele County Blades junior hockey team takes a six-game winning streak into their return to home ice Wendesday at 7:30PM against Forest Lake at Four Seasons Centre.

The Blades haven't played a home game since Thanksgiving weekend. They won their last two games at the Chicago showcase just before Christmas and won all four at the New England showcase over the weekend.

Colton Sprenger has made a nice return from injury with nine points in the last five games. He returned to the lineup in late December after missing about a month. Sprenger had a three-point night in a 6-2 win over the Potomac Patriots on Sunday. Kyle Wadden had two goals in that game after registering a pair of assists in Saturday's 7-1 victory over Team Beijing.

Earlier in the day Saturday, the Blades topped the Rochester Monarchs 3-2 in overtime. Soren Colstrup scored late in regulation to tie the contest. Zach Bettmeng scored the game winner, his second goal of the game.

The trip east opened with a 7-5 win over the P. A. L. Junior Islanders on Friday. Chase Lewis had two goals and two assists. Wadden tallied two goals.

Steele County has risen to third in the United State Premier Hockey League Elite Division standings. The Blades are 18-7-2 overall. Forest Lake enters Wednesday's game at 15-13-4. Steele County has won three of the four meetings with the Lakers, one of those being decided in overtime.
