Steele County Blades junior hockey opens its weekend with a rematch with Chicago at 7:30PM Friday, November 18, at the Four Seasons Centre in Owatonna.

Fans who present a ticket from Owatonna's state tournament football game Friday afternoon will get free admission to the Blades game that evening. Youth hockey players wearing their jersey get into the game free too.

The Blades and Cougars split a pair of exciting games last weekend. Steele County edged the Cougars 4-3 on Friday, November 11. Chicago won the next night 6-4. Steele County rallied to tie the game and Chicago responded with a pair of goals to earn the win.

After Friday's game, the Blades go to Forest Lake on Saturday at 7:30PM and Sunday at 4:30PM for the first games of the season against the Lakers.

Blades forward Oskari Valli is still getting used to life very far away from home. This is his first year playing hockey in the United States. He told KRFO he is enjoying playing in Owatonna but misses his family, girlfriend and the home cooking in Pori, Finland. Valli has five goals and three assists.

Forward Griffin Waters also grew up far away. He was born in Dallas and grew up in Florida. Waters came to the Blades last season and is pleased with the way this season's team is coming together.
