The Minnesota Junior Hockey League playoffs begin for the Steele County Blades on Friday night, Feb. 27, at Forest Lake. The teams will also play Saturday in Owatonna at 7 p.m.

The Blades and Lakers meet in the No. 4- versus No. 5-seeded first-round playoff series. It is best two-out-of-three.

  • Game One: Friday, Feb. 27 at Forest Lake, 8:30 p.m.
  • Game Two: Saturday, Feb. 28 at Four Seasons Centre in Owatonna, 7 p.m.
  • Game Three (if needed): Sunday, March 1 at Forest Lake, 7:30 p.m.

Steele County and Forest Lake split their six meetings this season, though the Blades won three of the last four head-to-head games. Three of the six were decided by one goal.

Blades coach Nick Adamek spoke with KRFO's Roy Koenig about the overall success of the season and looked ahead on the playoff match-up:

The Dells Ducks earned the No. 1 seed for the playoffs, but it took several levels of tie-breakers for them to edge ahead of the Rochester Ice Hawks.
